About Us

Our History

Cedar River Montessori School has been providing a Montessori education to children in south King County since 1981.
Our school was founded by Narda and William “Bill” Farrell along with Narda’s sister Melissa Baker-Kunz, on 16 acres of forested wetland and pasture in unincorporated King County, near Renton, Washington. Located about 200 feet north of the Cedar River in the lower Cedar River watershed, our school is located at the former site of a school called Maple Valley Montessori Manor School.
